Warning Description: Winter Weather Advisory
Warning Date: 8:36 am EST on January 6, 2009
WarningSum:...Winter Weather Advisory Remains In Effect Until 1 Pm Est This
Afternoon...
Warning Message:A mixture of light snow...sleet and freezing rain will transition
to all freezing drizzle or light freezing rain today. Air
temperatures will gradually warm toward or just above freezing
south of Interstate 70 today. This should help to end the icing
threat by early afternoon. However air temperatures north of
Interstate 70 may remain at or just below freezing for a longer
period of time today. We expect light freezing drizzle and light
freezing rain to persist for much of the day today.
Only light accumulations of ice can be expected...but any amount
of freezing rain can make roads and sidewalks very slick and
create hazardous travel conditions.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads
and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
