IT Systems Consultant

Tier 4 Solutions is seeking an energetic, personable, business-oriented individual with strong experience in the computer consulting field.
The ideal candidate will possess expert troubleshooting skills, the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and functional end-users and a customer service mentality.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Analyze, design, specify, configure, install and maintain local area network (LAN) hardware, software and telecommunication services
  • Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories and security
  • Install and test software upgrades
  • Research and evaluate new technologies
  • Analyze, identify, develop and present any means to improve client systems and infrastructure, consistent with the client’s organizational objectives
  • Train end-users on software and equipment
  • Build and maintain loyal internal and external customer relationships
  • Frequent automobile travel; visit several clients in a single day (travel reimbursement included)
  • Occasional after hours and weekend work

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience
  • MCSE 2003 Certification
  • Previous consulting experience
  • Cisco network equipment configuration experience
  • Firewall configuration experience with SonicWall, Watchguard and Cisco PIX
  • Expert installation, administration and troubleshooting skills for all Windows Server products, including NT 4.0, 200X, Exchange 5.5/200X, Small Business Server and SQL 7.0/200X
  • MS Terminal Services and/or Citrix configuration/support
  • Expert desktop support skills for all Microsoft operating systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal supervision
  • Active directory experience
  • Experience with Novell, Mac OS and Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • IT project management experience
  • Experience supporting SharePoint, CRM and/or Project Server
  • System architecture design (LAN and WAN)
